Your enjoyment, comfort and safety is our top priority, and to ensure your experience is fun and memorable in all the right ways, we have prepared the following information that will help you prepare for your visit.

Venue Entry

It may be a requirement for patrons to show proof of their full-vaccination status when attending the theatre. You can do this via the Service NSW app or by storing the certificate in your digital wallet or by presenting a physical certificate. Patrons can also present a valid written medical exemption. Currently it is a requirement for masks to be worn inside the venue.

Foundation Theatres have implemented some measures to maximise the safety and comfort of everyone that enters the venue. The theatre experience will be different, however we promise it will be just as magical as always!

Mobile Tickets

Tickets are dispatched 72 hours in advance of the performance date and can be scanned from your mobile phone. Please ensure your Ticketmaster account has the correct email and mobile phone number, for tickets that will be delivered electronically.

Ticket Forward

If you have given your tickets as a gift, please follow these steps to forward your tickets to the person attending the show once the barcode has been received within 72 hours of the performance.

Box Office Collections

If you are collecting tickets from the Box Office, the card holder must be present with the payment card used for the booking and a government-issued photo ID on the day of your selected performance only. The Box Office opens 1.5 hours prior to showtime.

Arrival Time

We recommend you arrive at a minimum 30 minutes early to allow time to check in and make your way to your seat with plenty of time. A lockout period applies.


Capitol Theatre is located in the inner-city suburb of Haymarket and is easily accessible via public transport, taxi or car with ample parking nearby. Plan your journey by calling 131 500 or visit Sydney Transport Info website.

Capitol Theatre is a five-minute walk from Central Station. Exit at Eddy Avenue and walk across Belmore Park. Plan your trip by train.

Light Rail

Buses replace Light Rail until further notice, please allow extra travel time or consider walking from Central Station. The Light Rail stop is next to the theatre in Capitol Square. Plan your trip by Light Rail.


The nearest stops are: Pitt St near Campbell St, Hay St near Pitt St and Pitt St near Eddy Avenue. Plan your trip by bus.


There are always plenty of taxis nearby.


We suggest parking at Market City Car Park or Goulburn Street Parking Station. The Capitol Square car park next door to the theatre has limited allocation and often reaches capacity.
